Tendinopathy - also know as tendonitis is a clinical condition of a tendon, that in the case of the foot, is usually caused by direct hit, fall, or chronic overuse. In your foot there are many muscles and tendons. The most common tendinopathies occured are :
Aterior Tibialis Tendinopahty
With symptoms:
- Pain on the dorsal foot
- Pain on the arch of the foot
- Pain with load
- Pain when walking
And it may be caused by:
- Tight shoes on the dorsal foot
- High ΒΜΙ, due to load
Peroneal Tendinopathy
With symptoms:
- Pain on the lateral side around the Malleolus
- Pain higher towards the calf
- Pain at long distance walking
- Pain up and down the stairs
And it may be caused by:
- Sudden, unexpected landing of the foot
- Old sprain
- Weak peroneal muscles
What happens if I do not treat Foot Tendinopathy
If a Tendinopathy is not treated, a chronic clinical condition might be caused with symptoms :
- Chronic pain
- Muscle athrophy
- Functional restrictions, inablity to walk long distancew, climb stairs
- Quality of life deterioration
